What is Frozen Sapphire FUE hair transplant?
Frozen Sapphire FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) Hair Transplant is the latest technique of FUE hair transplantation — But what does this mean?
01. Frozen
Unlike traditional FUE hair transplant, after harvesting hair follicles from you donor area (which could be the back of your head, you beard or your chest) each follicle is stored in a frozen preservative solution to prevent the possibility of decomposition from ambient temperature.
The enriched solution not only protects your follicles for the period between the time of harvesting and implanting but also enrich them with vital minerals for optimum results.
02. Sapphire
Instead of using a standard surgical metal blade, a sapphire head is utilised to create the micro channels due to the sharpness coefficient of the blade. This technique ensures your scalp tissue is not harmed during the operation and promotes a much faster healing period and a natural-looking hair.
But what’s the point of these micro channels?
Well, this is the important part — A healthy person has around 55-65 hair follicle per square centimetre. To give you this natural look, it is absolutely necessary to use sapphire blades to accommodate for the same hair density with tiniest incisions possible.
Sapphire is also crucial as it allows the doctor to take into consideration the growth angle of your follicles and shape your hair accordingly to ensure the results are natural and homogenous.

03. FUE
FUE stands for Follicular Unit Extraction which means that hair follicles are extracted one by one from your donor area and then implanted into the recipient area; and this is the latest technique in hair transplantation.
The alternative method is the older Follicular Unit Transplantation — FUT, also known as the strip procedure, where a full strip of hair is transplanted. FUT technique often results in scars visible to the naked eye.
You definitely need to opt for the FUE technique for the most desirable look.
